Hi, I’m Melody Lee Madarasz and I love cotton candy. More importantly, I’m an actress, singer, yogi currently finding and honing her many voices here in NYC. Starting with opera, my journey to finding my voice has taken me down many different roads. I’ve headlined at the Stone Pony (Asbury Park, NJ) with my punk band, have been 1st soprano in numerous choirs, sang “dirty” Gershwin (“Do It Again”-look it up, you won’t be sorry) for Ann Bogart, and have recently loved exploring what I find to be my truest voice in R&B/pop/rock with the assistance of some killer tunes by the writing duo Lyons and Pakchar. I’m also a lover of dialect work (ask me for my Mr. G of Summer Heights High impression, I dare you.)
Being the eldest of four girls, I should’ve known that the theater would bring lots of young children into my life…in the form of two Off-Broadway children’s shows, the first in which I made my NYC debut. I’ve been privileged to be apart of many projects from the ground up, including my NYMF debut in Academia Nuts (winner of NYMF’s Best of Fest) and have sung in numerous concerts throughout NYC, some of my favorites being my Lincoln Center debut, The Cutting Room, and 54 Below.
My french bulldog Sir William and I are currently neighbors with Al Roker on the Upper East Side where I frequent the hot yoga studio on the corner, stare longingly at Tal Bagels and am on the daily hunt for the best smelling candles. For the last two months, my weekends have been filled with lots of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs as I was performing in the crazy Off-Broadway show Mad Libs LIVE at New World Stages! Though we just closed, stay tuned to see whats next!
